What Angels See

Note: Working off a writing prompt on this one.. don't do it often, but when the creative juices aren't flowing, it sometimes really does help....  Not so much this time though, got stalled.

Angels see the intent behind the question

The purpose behind the deed

And the truth behind the smile

They see the motive behind the act

The reason behind the thought

The sincerity behind the kindness

Or its lack

They were there to see the first steps of faith

To help carry you across to your new life

They remember your struggles

Fought for your victories

Bled with your defeats

They remember the sweetness of your fire

New and pure at truth's discovery

And they grieve now at the busieness

That steals away the joy
